Finding Inspiration in Nature

Frank Lloyd Wright’s famous quote, “Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you,” encapsulates the essence of nature’s quality and beauty. As an aspiring architect, I consider Wright as one of my mentors, recognizing the profound influence of nature on architectural design.

Personal Journey and Vision

After four years as a junior architect in Klongsarn district, I developed a deep appreciation for nature’s beauty—the towering trees, the gentle river breeze, the earthy scent of grass and soil. Like a fledgling bird, I felt the urge to spread my wings and explore new horizons. Three years into my architectural journey, I embarked on a quest to find the perfect sanctuary—a space where my architectural vision could take flight.

Creating a Natural Haven

Destiny led me to an empty third floor of a townhouse on Charoenrat road, a space that defied my preconceived notions of an ideal office. Undeterred, I decided to craft my vision from scratch. Inspired by Wright’s philosophy, I sacrificed 15% of the area on the north and east sides of the building to create a tree-lined balcony. This outdoor sanctuary, adorned with cobblestone flooring, concrete planters, wooden accents, and gravel, seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor spaces, offering a tranquil retreat amidst the urban hustle.

Thoughtful Design and Functionality

The floor plan encompasses four distinct zones: the ARTi Architect office, a shared meeting room, a rental space for lighting/graphic design, and the tree-lined balcony accessible from every zone. I firmly believe that a conducive environment fosters creativity and inspiration. My vision is to cultivate an office where individuals can work and unwind harmoniously, surrounded by nature’s beauty.

Conclusion: Nature’s Influence

In the words of Vincent Van Gogh, “If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere.” The ARTi Architect Office embodies this sentiment, seamlessly integrating nature into every aspect of its design. It serves as a testament to the transformative power of nature in shaping architectural spaces and inspiring creativity.
