Blumer Lehmann’s Wisdome Stockholm project at the Tekniska Museet in Stockholm showcases advanced visualization technology to tackle intricate challenges. Collaborating with project partners, they spearheaded the production and assembly of the Free Form timber structure.

Collaborative Design and Construction

The architectural design, conceptualized by Elding Oscarson and Florian Kosche, mandated the utilization of cross-laminated timber (CLT) and laminated veneer lumber (LVL) from Stora Enso. Employing traditional construction methods, the project team incorporated dowels and plugs for joints in the Free Form vaulted roof. This approach facilitated efficient beam spanning across the structure.

Sustainable Material and Innovative Solutions

The internal space of Wisdome Stockholm features a hemispherical dome structure housing a 3D cinema. Noteworthy is the fact that all dome components are meticulously crafted from cross-laminated timber (CLT) sourced from the Stora Enso factory in Sweden. This case study exemplifies successful collaboration and problem-solving in realizing an innovative architectural endeavor.
